Launch Week provided mentees with an opportunity t Launch Week provided mentees with an opportunity to apply the sociotechnical skills they’ve honed over the previous weeks in a real-world setting. Each mentee team was tasked with creating a digital or physical prototype aimed at addressing a societal inequity they felt passionate about.
The culmination of their efforts came on Launch Day, the final day of our program, where teams presented their prototypes to a panel of judges from Microsoft, including Pius Gonzalvo (Business Program Manager), Nandita Gupta (Product Manager - Accessibility)
and Camila Christensen (Software Engineer). Following their presentations, teams engaged in meaningful discussions and received valuable feedback from the judges.
The judging panel faced a tough decision in selecting the first-place team due to the high level of innovation and thoughtfulness in all the prototypes. Our CIC team is incredibly proud of each group for their collective spirit, creativity, and dedication!
In addition to their impressive projects, the mentees embraced the fun side of Launch Week by dressing up for Spirit Days. Their enthusiastic participation added an extra layer of enjoyment and camaraderie to the week’s events. Witnessing their final products and their spirited engagement made Launch Week a resounding success. We extend our heartfelt thanks to all the staff and judges who contributed to this enriching experience! #lastweekbestweek #changemakers #sospirited #weloveourmentees
